Why use emery and glass beads for sandblasting of carbon steel and stainless steel?
Strictly speaking, only glass beads, corundum, etc. are allowed for stainless steel sandblasting. In the production process of stainless steel, the tools used are not allowed to be shared with the production of carbon steel, and the equipment used must be strictly cleaned before use.
Iron sand will destroy the passivation film on the surface of stainless steel, which will cause premature corrosion in the future use process.
The strength of iron sand is high, and the strength of stainless steel is low, which will damage the surface of stainless steel;
at the same time, if there is residual iron, the stainless steel will be rusted.
The iron oxide produced after iron rusting is acidic when exposed to water, which will cause stainless steel to corrode.
