Sand washing experiment of garnet and corundum abrasives
Experimental equipment and methods: environmental protection automatic sand washing machine, 12mm secondary air inlet type nozzle, roughness tester, 6 pieces of 600mm*800mm stainless steel plates, 500kg of garnet and brown corundum abrasives each; choose garnet abrasives and Different specifications of brown corundum abrasives were compared experimentally, as shown in Table 2 and Table 3, respectively.
It can be seen from the experimental results in Table 3 that:
(1) As the particle size of the brown corundum abrasive decreases, the surface roughness of the stainless steel also decreases, but the cleanliness of the stainless steel surface gradually increases.
(2) The selection of first-class brown corundum and high-quality iron-aluminum garnet abrasives can meet the requirements of the technical specifications.
(3) Compared with brown corundum, garnet has inherent deficiency in hardness, so it is not as good as brown corundum abrasive in terms of sand washing efficiency and breakage rate.

(4) There is a common problem of sand embedded in garnet sand washing. Although the selection of small-grained abrasives can solve the problem of embedded sand, it is difficult for the roughness of punching to meet the requirements of 40-75um, while brown corundum abrasives with a particle size of 22 mesh can meet the roughness requirements. degree requirements.
(5) The surface after garnet sand washing is brighter and more beautiful, and it is more acceptable in terms of cleanliness.
(6) The dust produced by both sand washing is extremely large. In comparison, garnet dust is more harmful to occupational health.
